It is good, although not always easy, to practice what we preach. The strength of community....
It has been a desperately sad week, with all our thoughts focused on Manchester, the families of the victims and a community in shock and grief, following a truly terrible crime against innocent people. A special place....
Assembly this week was a seemingly unending celebration of success: the Green Team’s ongoing and ever-increasing activity; the passage of our U12 Hockey A Team to the Midlands finals in April (presaging a great Hockey presentation evening on Thursday with Lily Owsley – Rio gold medal winner and goal scorer in the final); victory for our Clay Pigeon Shooting Team in The Schools Challenge at the Oxford Gun Company; the Golf Team’s route to the regional finals; and the latest rugby victory to set up a double-header at Twickenham next Wednesday and an impassioned exhortation from our Head Boy to support with both gusto and respect.

Term seems to have started well, with trial examinations, the 11+ Entrance Exam and lots of hard work. It was like we were never away… Last Sunday we marked Epiphany in Chapel and this is the sermon I delivered – it may not be to all tastes but I hope there will be something of interest here.
