Sixties Reunion, 3 May 2008
Former pupils of Warwick School flew in from around the world for a Sixties Reunion on 3 May 2008. The Reunion was open to everyone who left the school during the 1960s – and the masters who taught them. Organiser Nigel Robinson, Chairman of the OWA, said old boys attended from as far a field as Japan, South Africa and Hong Kong, as well as from Malta and mainland Europe. “It was an incredible day,” said Nigel. “Many of them hadn't seen one another for 40 years or more! The last time we did this was ten years ago, with a reunion for those of us who were turning 50 years of age.”
Some 130 people attended the day, including 80 OWs and over 12 former members of staff.
Activities ranged from tours of the school and a Chapel Service, to swimming, rifle shooting and a game of touch rugby. There was also plenty of time to watch school cricket matches and chat to old friends.
A film show of 1960s cine, taken at the school during that decade, brought back many memories. the next 'Sixties' reunion is planned for five years time!
