Day 3 In Beijing
A busy day in Day Three. We visited the Forbidden City, Emperor's Summer Palace, the Temple Of Heaven, Tiannaman Square and Mao. The boys were amazed at the size of the crowds, standing in line to see their former great leader.
We then moved on to the Forbidden City. We passed through one court after another and seemed to walk for kilometers until we reached the Emperor's Palace. Beijing is a busy, bustling city, but the Emperor's Palace is a peaceful, quiet place that is in the heart of Beijing.
The Temple Of Heaven was even more tranquil. The photo shows it is cylindrical form with its three tiers all glazed, tiled roofs. The Summer Palace, located on the outskirts of Beijing, is an extensive area on the edge of a large lake.
In the evening we went to a thrilling acrobatic show. It features acrobats jumping through hoops, tumbling and riding bikes. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the show and were impressed by the skill of the performers.
