Academic

Three academically balanced forms enter the School at 7+ and remain in place until entry to Senior School at 11+.

English, Mathematics and Science are the core subjects followed throughout the four years. This core is supplemented by History, Geography, Religious Education, Art, Music, French and Drama. The courses offered more than fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum. Each class has two Physical Education periods and a Games afternoon per week, during which some Senior School specialists give invaluable assistance.

During the four-year period in the Junior School, the pursuit of oracy, literacy and numeracy remains the priority, but not to the exclusion of the creative and less formal approaches to all subjects.

The Year 6 forms eventually sit the competitive Entrance Examination for acceptance into the Senior School in the January of their final year.
