Library

The Library, situated on the first floor of the Masefield Centre, plays a central role in the life of the School. It is extensively used for reading and research throughout the day and is a popular venue at break times, lunch times and after school.  It offers a venue for Sixth Form private study periods during the day and hosts Homework Club and Board Prep in the evenings.

The Library is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and is staffed by a chartered librarian and an assistant librarian. It houses more than 23,000 books, reference resources, information files, magazines, newspapers, CDs, DVDs and ten networked computers. A networked catalogue lists library resources including online subscription services and numerous links to educational web sites.

All new boys visit the Library as part of their Induction Programme. During their first term in School, they are taught the skills of finding and using information in the Library. Boys also make regular class visits to the Library throughout the year to research information for project work and for recreational reading.

e-Books are changing the way we read. Warwick School will always be passionate about the written book but now our students have an opportunity to borrow e-books and read them at no extra cost. Warwick School have been selected to be part of an exciting national library e-book pilot and hope students and parents will find time to look at the e-books together. E-books can be downloaded for up to 2 weeks onto laptops, computers, ipads, smart phones and e-readers and the school has a number of e-readers for loan.
