Personal Achievement Awards
The Friends are delighted to be able to invite applications for the FOWS Personal Achievement Awards. The scheme offers financial support to individual boys or small groups of boys towards the costs of specific projects undertaken at Easter, Summer Half Term or during the Summer Holidays. The awards are competitive and are intended to give boys an opportunity to develop skills in planning, costing and presentation necessary to submit an application.
These awards may be used to cover the cost, or contribute towards the cost, of the proposed project. Each application will be given very careful consideration by a panel of judges with particular interest taken on the presentation and content, together with a clear demonstration of scope and ambition.
Projects should show a good level of individuality and independence, however, they may vary greatly in nature. Awards could be given towards projects such as taking part in a music or theatre course, taking part in a sporting opportunity, competing in a particular hobby, helping with a charitable organisation or assisting in an environmental or conservation initiative. School related projects will not be considered (e.g Duke of Edinburgh, World Challenge).
Please contact the FOWS organiser, Sophie Duffy, on nortonduff@hotmail.com if you have any queries. The application deadline is Monday 25 February 2013.
