Sixth Form Entry

Candidates applying for entry to Warwick School Sixth Form will be invited to visit the school and have an interview with the Head of Sixth Form, (Mr J N Jefferies).

A report from the candidate’s current school (with an indication of predicted grades at GCSE) will also be required.

Subsequent to the interview, and a satisfactory report, an offer may be made for entry the following September.  An offer of a place is dependent upon meeting the school’s academic requirements for entry to the Sixth Form, namely a minimum of 5 B grades at GCSE and an A* or A grade in the subjects (or related subjects where the subject at A level is not available at GCSE), chosen for A Level.

A minimum of four D grades at AS Level, with preferably grade C in those subjects to be taken at A2 Level, are required for automatic entry to the Upper Sixth at Warwick School.

There are a small number of scholarships available for entry to the Sixth Form at Warwick. Scholarships are designed to reward academic excellence and talent.  They are awarded up to the value of 20% of fees. Candidates applying for a scholarship will be expecting to gain at least 6A* grades at GCSE. Again, evidence of this will be expected from a school report. Those wishing to apply for a scholarship should indicate on the application form that they wish to do so. All scholarship candidates will then be invited to sit two examinations, each of 1.5 hours duration, in the subjects (or related subjects where there is no GCSE available) they wish to study for AS/A2 Level. Candidates are asked to supply details with the entry form of the syllabus they are studying in the specialist subjects offered in the Examination.

Depending upon the outcome of these examinations, candidates may be invited back for an interview with senior staff from the subjects they have chosen for A Level, after which a decision on whether to award a scholarship will be made.

Candidates who are not successful in being invited back for a scholarship interview, will subsequently be invited to meet the Head of Sixth Form if they still wish to continue with their application for entry to Sixth Form without a Scholarship.
