Warwick School International Community Pulls Together

Worried about the ongoing shortage of PPE for critical care staff in the UK, the parents of our International Boarders at Warwick School joined together to help.

Our parents collected vast quantities of PPE between them, and in total have sent 3,880 disposable face masks, 7,500 pairs of disposable gloves, 21 surgical gowns and 1,040 N95 masks to Warwick School for distribution in the local community.

A shipment was sent via our educational agents in Hong Kong, Academic Asia, who acted as a collection point for the donations, and many parents of our pupils from China have packaged parcels individually and sent them directly to the school.

Mr David Bull, Head of Boarding at Warwick School, who is arranging distribution of the PPE commented “Warwick School is a fantastic community and this is evident in the way that our pupils and parents pull together in times of need. All of our boarding pupils are back in their home countries, but they are desperate to help their friends and communities in the UK in any way that they can. Thank you so much to all of our families for contributing to this tremendous effort.”

Head Master at Warwick School commented, “We have been amazed at the generosity of our parents to contribute towards this initiative and delighted at the donations we have received so far. This is a really positive way for the boarders and their families to connect with the school and the local community, and we are grateful for all of their support.”

The equipment was collected by Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust and taken to their warehouse for distribution to local care homes and NHS hospitals.
