Data Driven Decision Making

Last week, students from Warwick School and King's High School attended a lecture as part of our Academic Enrichment programme.

The title of the lecture was “Data Driven Decision Making” and was led by James Chamberlain, an Economics finalist at Warwick University.

James gave the students a real insight as to what is involved in studying Economics to degree level and how his passion for Mathematics, coupled with his ability to apply statistical methods,  culminated in his final year Econometrics dissertation on advancing decision making in sport.

He outlined how economists progress up the “Wisdom Pyramid” and discussed the finer details of his thesis with students from our Foundation Schools.

An informative and detailed talk that highlighted one of the many opportunities available to students with a love of applied mathematics.
