NMAPS teacher training success

Congratulations to Mr Wang, Mathematics teacher, who has recently secured a new teaching job at Magdalen College School, Oxford. Mr Wang completed his teacher training with NMAPS (National Mathematics and Physics) at Warwick School, which is an alternative route into teaching.

"I am so glad I chose to do my teacher training with NMAPS at Warwick School. The nature of the course means that I have been in school since the start of the academic year, which has allowed me to develop my subject knowledge and pedagogy from day one. As we spend most of our time at our main placement school, I have been able to really get to know Warwick School and its students.

Due to the relatively small cohort in comparison to university-based training schemes, I have been able to get to know my fellow trainees extremely well, and it has been very useful to hear about their experiences in different schools on our training days. In addition, this has meant I have been able to take control of my own workload in determining when to take on more teaching responsibilities and received bespoke support for job application and interviews, which I believed helped massively in securing the job at Magdalen College School, Oxford.

I would encourage anyone considering teacher training to consider NMAPS and the Warwick Hub."
