Warwick Schools Foundation provides an ever expanding range of holiday activities. Open to everyone, these courses provide a fun way to experience new or favourite activities.

Please note that some activities are on specific days only.

Please note that year groups are in relation to state school year groups. Children will be in the year group they are currently in at school. 

I'm afraid that Holiday Action at Kingsley is not currently able to accept children from Reception and Year 1 - although your children are more than welcome to join our Cygnets group, at Warwick School, if you are in need of childcare. For more information on Cygnets, please see below.

Our Fun Short Courses for May Holiday Action include:

Summer Sports, Art & Craft, Pottery, Invasion Games, Forest School, Fun Activities, Robot Wars Experience, Aerial Acrobatics, Striking and Fielding Games, Tennis, Curious Creatures, Jewellery Making, Fun with Felt, Multi-Sports, and Parkour!

All half-day courses are £21.00

PLEASE NOTE: Lunchtime supervision will be provided for any children booked onto both a morning and afternoon short course. Please bring a packed lunch. 

Please note that year groups are in relation to state school year groups. Children will be in the year group they are currently in at school.  I'm afraid that we are not able to accept children who have not yet started in Reception.

Please see below, for a summary of what each course involves: 

Robot Wars Experience

Take part in an unforgettable robot workshop, led by former Robot Wars contestant and experienced engineer John Findlay. This workshop will allow children to design and build their own ‘Super Antweight’ kit robots and pit them against each other in the battle arena! 

Lifesaving and First Aid

Using the Warwick School Swimming pool, you can learn skills from the Rookie Lifeguard training scheme including rescue techniques and scenario-based exercises. Followed by basic first aid skills including CPR. Please note you MUST be a confident deep-water swimmer to take part in the lifesaving aspect of this session!  

Water Polo and Fitness

Have a go at one of the fastest growing sports around - Water Polo! Great for stamina and building team work - plus, it's amazing fun to boot!

Then, for the second half of the afternoon, take to the gym for a tailored fitness session.

Please bring a swimming costume and towel (goggles are optional). Children will need to be able to swim at least 1 width of a recognised stroke (not doggy paddle) to be allowed to take part. Please note that our lifeguards cannot supervise any spectating children at Early Birds Swim (Years 2 - 7).  All children who attend must swim.

Night Owls

Tea will be served at 4.45pm in the main dining hall and will consist of a selection of sandwiches and cold buffet food. The children will be eating until approximately 5.30pm. Collection will therefore be from the above locations between 5.30pm and 6.00pm. However, if you would like to collect your child earlier than this, please let us know in advance so we can ensure they are ready for collection.

To make your booking, please CLICK HERE.

From there, please select the venue/course you'd like to book - KINGSLEY and WARWICK should be clearly marked on the links available.

When choosing your courses at a specific venue - if a day is showing as RED, then it means the course is fully booked on this day. However, you are welcome to add your name to the waiting list. Please email G.Thorne@warwickschools.co.uk and we will notify you if a place becomes available.

If YOUR METHOD OF PAYMENT IS VIA CHILDCARE VOUCHER OR TAX FREE CHILDCARE, PAYMENT MUST BE TRANSFERRED WITHIN 5 DAYS OF BOOKING.

Please include your booking reference (e.g. REF-123456-ABC) as the reference.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP 

WARWICK
All courses will be based at Warwick Junior School, Sports Centre and Pavilion. Please park in the Warwick Junior School carpark and follow the signs.

  • Early Bird Swim
    • Drop off is in the Sports Centre foyer from 8.00am
  • Early Risers
    • Drop off is in the Pavilion from 8.00am
  • Cygnets
    • Drop off is in the Pavilion at 9.00am
    • Pick up is in the Pavilion at 4.30pm
  • Fun Short Courses
    • Morning drop off is in the Green Gym at 9.00am (access via the Sports Centre main entrance)
    • Midday pickup is from the Sports Centre foyer at 12.15pm (if only attending a morning course) 
    • Afternoon drop off is at the Black Gates at 1.15pm (if only attending an afternoon course)
    • Afternoon pick up is from the WJS playground at 4.30pm
    • Please note: lunchtime supervision is provided for children attending both a morning and afternoon course.
  • Night Owls
    • Pick up is from the Green Gym between 5.30pm and 6.00pm (access via the fire door next to the Community Activities office)

 

Please note - the climbing frame on the WJS playground can only be used during designated playtimes and under staff supervision. We would kindly request that the climbing frame is not used at any other times, e.g. drop off and pick up. Thank you for your understanding.

 

KINGSLEY
All courses will be based at The Kingsley School (Beauchamp House, CV32 5RD). Please use on-street car parking, go to the front of the main school building (Beauchamp House), enter via the courtyard gate and follow the signs.

  • Kingsley Kookaburras
    • Morning drop off is in the School Hall foyer at 9.00am
    • Afternoon pick up is from the School Hall foyer at 4.30pm

 

ACTION PLUS
All courses will be based at the Warwick School Sports Centre and Pavilion. Please park in the WJS carpark and follow the signs. 

  • Morning drop off is in the Green Gym at 9.00am (access via the Sports Centre main entrance)
  • Midday pickup is at 12.15pm from the Black Gates (if only attending a morning course) 
  • Afternoon drop off is at 1.15pm from the Black Gates (if only attending an afternoon course) 
  • Pick up is from the Warwick Junior School playground at 4.30pm
  • Please note: lunchtime supervision is provided for children attending both a morning and afternoon course. 
WHAT TO BRING
 

Please bring plenty to drink (a refillable water bottle is recommended), a snack*, a packed lunch (if staying for the whole day)* and a coat for playtime. 

Please ensure that your child arrives dressed suitably for the weather - layers are always a good idea, including a hoodie or jumper, plus a waterproof coat in the event of rain. 

We would recommend that children wear comfortable clothing that they can wear for the whole day, e.g. sportswear and trainers. 

*please do not bring any food containing nuts onto the site (including Nutella, hazelnut spread, chicken satay and pesto sauce)

*please ensure grapes and cherry tomatoes are cut in half to avoid choking hazard

*please note there is no fridge available.

Please note - there is no tuck shop available for this holiday period. Please ensure children arrive with all the food and snacks they will need for the day.

Please also:

  • Bring all inhalers, Epi-pens or any other medication in a clear, sealed and labelled bag, and hand in upon arrival. If medication is required please complete the appropriate form under 'Medical' in our Additional information area.  This must be handed in on your child's first day of attendance.
  • Mobile phones are permitted at Holiday Action for children in School Years 6 and above - please see below for details of our 'Mobile Phone' policy.

MOBILE PHONES
 

We recognise that it is increasingly difficult to police the use of mobile phones by pupils, but the following rules apply on site at Holiday Action:

  • Mobile phones are permitted at Holiday Action for children in School Years 6 and above.
  • Phones are bought onto site at the owner’s own risk and Holiday Action does not take any responsibility for any loss or damage incurred.
  • Use of phones is restricted to breaktimes and lunchtimes and only within the designated ‘Phone Zone’ which is monitored by staff. Phones should be kept safely in their bags during activity sessions and at all other times, including drop-off, registration and pick-up.
  • Staff on duty in the ‘Phone Zone’ will actively and closely supervise the use of mobile phones.
  • The ‘Phone Zone’ is for playing age appropriate games only, i.e. downloadable games that have an age certificate (PEGI rating) appropriate for the age of the children playing them
  • Pupils are not allowed to use their phones to:
    • Access or post on any social media websites (Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, Snapchat, Reddit, Pinterest, etc)
    • View, take or share photos/videos - including content downloaded from 3rd party websites and social media
    • Make calls or send texts/messages. Any calls to parents must be made by Holiday Action management.
    • Play music
    • Access the school WIFI
    • Cause upset or distress to another pupil.
  • If pupils are seen to be accessing inappropriate material or sites this will be immediately stopped and reported to management.

SWIMMING
 
  • Early Birds Swim (8.00 - 9.00) will consist of a fun swim overseen by qualified lifeguards
  • Swimming will also be available as part of select afternoon courses (e.g. Summer Sports and Swim). If your child is booked onto one of these courses, please bring a swimming kit, towel and goggles (optional).
  • For 'Lifesaving and First Aid' and 'Water Polo and Fitness' (Action Plus) please bring a swimming kit, towel and goggles (optional).

Please note - swimming is currently only available at WARWICK and for children in School Years 2 and above.

If your child requires any medication during their time at Holiday Action, or has a pre-existing injury, please complete one of our Medical Forms and bring this with you on the first day.

The option of choosing to pay via childcare vouchers or Tax Free Childcare is under the Terms and Conditions at the end of the booking process.  If paying by childcare voucher or Tax Free Childcare, please note that the payment transaction must be completed and a screenshot of the payment confirmation sent to G.Thorne@warwickschools.co.uk within 5 days of making your booking in order to confirm your place.

Additional Information

  • All courses have the appropriate staff to pupil ratio. 
  • All staff are DBS checked and undergo regular child protection training.
  • Staff are appointed for their experience and expertise. 
  • Only nationally recognised qualifications are accepted for specialist activities. 
  • Doors are coded into buildings to prevent unauthorised access.
  • Either Dan or Adrian are always available to be contacted by parents or staff throughout the day in the Community Activities office. 
  • Qualified First Aiders are always available. 
  • Data protection – All information collected will be held securely and will only be used to provide the best possible holiday childcare services for your child, and to ensure that your child is safe within our care.
