What will happen if we get a confirmed COVID case

In line with the latest Government guidance on testing and self-isolation, we can confirm the following process will be taken if a positive COVID case is confirmed:

  • The individual who tested positive will be required to stay at home and follow the latest Government advice
  • Holiday Action will identify all other individuals who came into close contact with the confirmed case
  • Holiday Action will then get in touch with those affected and advise them to take a PCR test as soon as possible
  • Please note that, all individuals who have been identified as a close contact of a suspected or confirmed case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, irrespective of vaccination status and age, will be contacted directly and required to self-isolate immediately and asked to book a PCR test. They will be informed by the local health protection team or NHS Test and Trace if they fall into this category and provided details about self-isolation.
  • Identified close contacts will not be required to self-isolate and will still be able to attend whilst they are awaiting the outcome of the PCR test, providing they are not a close contact of a suspected or confirmed case of the Omicron variant, are not a sibling of the confirmed case (see below), are not displaying symptoms, are fully vaccinated and/or they are below the age of 18 years and 6 months.
  • If this PCR test is positive, then the process will be restarted for that individual. If the test is negative, then no further action is required.

PLEASE NOTE: In line with advice that we have received from Warwickshire Public Health, we will be implementing 'Test and Release' for siblings of positive cases. This means that siblings of a positive case will be asked to stay at home until they (the non-positive sibling) have received a negative PCR test. They will then be asked to take daily Lateral Flow Device tests  for the remaining days of a ten day ‘isolation’ period.

Please be assured that we will continue to enforce positive hand hygiene and cleaning routines where necessary to keep all children and staff as safe as possible whilst they are with us on site.

Our current COVID protocols

Please be assured that we will continue to enforce positive routines where necessary to keep all children and staff as safe as possible whilst they are with us on site, including:

  • HAND HYGIENE - regular hand-washing and use of hand sanitiser - all staff and children will still be encouraged to wash their hands before coming on site and, whilst on site, time will be allocated across the day to allow staff and children to do similar before and after activities
  • CLEANING - regular cleaning of all resources and touchpoints - we will ensure that all equipment and facilities are thoroughly cleaned before first use. Similarly, time and resources have been allocated to make sure equipment/facilities are cleaned throughout the day. Training has been provided for all staff on the correct cleaning technique
  • STAFF - staff to wear face coverings when using corridors and communal areas. All staff are encouraged to take 2x weekly Lateral Flow Tests.
  • VENTILATION - where the weather allows, we will continue to ensure that all rooms and spaces used are well ventilated
