A Day in the Life

U11 Joint Winners of the Harrison Cup

The sun shone brightly on what is a challenging festival with teams from Newcastle, Liverpool and the local Yorkshire district.

Warwick played 4 pool matches winning all:

  • QEGS B 25-0
  • Bradford Grammar 30-0
  • Bronte House 15-0
  • Birkdale 10-0

All of the teachers then decided the playing structure for the afternoon by pairing similar ability teams together. Playing a further two matches, Warwick experienced mixed results but played some sublime rugby: v QEGS A 20-0; Aysgarth 5-20.

All of the coaches then decided which team displayed the core values of the RFU through their playing.  For the first time in 29 years there was a tie with the cup being awarded jointly to Warwick and Aysgarth.

It proved to be an exhilarating day’s rugby. The team played fantastically well. We believe them to be our best for many years. Two boys were absent through injury: Tommy and Rafe, but committed as they are, they made the journey to Wakefield to support. Commitment to the cause!
