Athletics Round-up

Town Championships - Edmonscote

The recent town championships saw the Year 7 athletics team win the overall trophy for their year group, with noteable performances in the three throwing disciplines; Ben Bell-Thorn winning the Shot-putt, Jaden Nwangwa winning the Javelin and Matty Walker winning the Discus.

The Year 8 athletics team came second in their year group, with impressive performances by Angus MacKinley who won the 300m and the relay team who also won.

Solihull School Competition

Four schools took part in this competition; Warwick, Solihull, Bablake and KES Aston. Warwick won overall in the U16 age group and the U14 team came second in their respective group. Warwick came out as overall winners of the whole competition with the following noteable performances:

  • Jack Forsythe winning the 100m
  • Harry Allwood winning the 300m
  • Kunwoo Ha taking second in the 300m
  • U16s winning their relay
  • Kai Nwangwa winning the Javelin
  • Elliot Warner winning 1500m
  • Alesandro Fakatou winning the Shot-putt
  • Cameron McGregor winning the Discus

Congratulations must also go to Harvey Brown (200m) and Kai Nwangwa (Javelin) who were both invited to represent Warwickshire in the Mason Trophy athletics championships at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
