A Day in the Life

ESSA Team Championships

Congratulations to our swim squads on their amazing performances at the ESSA Team Championships.

On Saturday eight boys travelled to London Aquatic Centre to swim in the ESSA (English Schools Swimming Association) Team Championships. The boys swam brilliantly, all making progress on their qualifying times.

170 elite schools entered, and only 30 made the Championship finals on Saturday. The U13’s and U15’s qualified for both of their relays. Congratulations to Sam Manship, Morgan Evans, Oliver Hunt, and Skip Snelson who came 15th in the freestyle relay. Morgan Evans swam the first leg of the 50 metre freestyle relay in 27.76 seconds.

Finally congratulations to the Junior Team; Ruben Snelson, Harvey Flint, Louis McAuliffe and George Gloster, two of whom swam up for their age group. They qualified 7th for the final and were just pipped into 9th by 3 hundredths of a second. All boys swam incredibly well against some tough teams and should be incredibly proud of their final qualification.
