All Boxed-up for Charity

Over 100 Warwick School boys slept in cardboard boxes to raise money for charity.

This annual event, which usually takes place on the school site, was somewhat different this year. The boys were challenged with a 'remote' at home sleep-out, building their own cardboard shelter, along with other materials they had available.

The idea behind the sleep-out is to raise funds for a good cause and allow the Year 7 boys to have fun whilst appreciating a little of what it means to be homeless.

The night was a big success, with everyone having fun completing their challenges with their friends and families on Microsoft Teams over video calls. Despite the wind and chill lots of boys also braved sleeping outside in their own dens. We have raised over £3,000 for the Helping Hands Community Project in Leamington Spa which Warwick School is once again supporting.

Helping Hands works with local people who are dealing with homelessness, domestic violence, addictions, mental ill-health and unemployment. By providing support, skills, experience and qualifications Helping Hands can get local people back into work and safe housing.
