Kyoto - The Last Straw
Warwick School's Young Enterprise Company ‘Kyoto’ have had an exceptionally busy few weeks in the world of running their own business.
One of the climaxes of the year normally is the presentation evening. This year this couldn’t happen and instead the group had to record a video presentation where they discuss the business and highlight what they have learnt. https://youtu.be/3v7NycMlS34
In addition to this they have produced a company report, commenting on their successes and problems that they have faced. Whilst, last week saw 4 company members field questions from the competition’s judges in Dragon’s Den style interviews. Several taxing questions were posed, ranging from how the group hope to develop the business, down to ones about the dreaded financial ratios. Overall the boys gave some well thought through responses, showcasing various skills they had learnt from the year (albeit with the odd strange answer thrown in!).
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to go through to the next stage, but the boys will continue to run the company through to the end of the academic year. If any would like to order a pack of their Bamboo Straws, then you can still do so by visiting YE online trading station.
