Top 5 things to know about our Wellbeing Hub

At Warwick School, pastoral care is at the heart of our purpose and shapes everything we do.

Our Wellbeing Hub, which opened in March 2022, is a key part of this commitment. Located in a central point on the Warwick School campus, it is one of the first places introduced to boys when they join - an open, welcoming space that can rely on throughout their Warwick journey.

The Hub is a calm environment for pupils when they need a space to wind down, relax and take some time out. Most importantly, it provides a reassuring place where boys always know there is someone ready to listen.

  1. Peer Mentors and Wellbeing Ambassadors
Peer Mentors and Wellbeing Ambassadors are part of our pupil body, playing a meaningful role in supporting their peers. They take part in ongoing training to develop strong listening and interpersonal skills and spend scheduled time in the Hub offering a friendly ear. This not only helps those seeking support but also empowers our pupil ambassadors with leadership skills that extend far beyond school.

  2. Quiet study and reflective spaces
Quiet working spaces and meeting areas are available in the Wellbeing Hub for those moments when boys need some time to complete pieces of work outside the regular school routine. Whilst we have many spaces around the school for studying, we recognise that often a smaller, quieter space may just be what your child needs.

  3. Purpose-designed therapy and activity rooms
A “beach and mountain” escape are themes of our therapy rooms in the Wellbeing Hub. These rooms are spaces where pupils can have support sessions with dedicated staff across all disciplines. Furthermore, around the Hub there are games and activities; Lego, colouring, chess, cards, which can be used as calming activities for self-regulation, or social activities to form connections with peers. There is also a Sensory Room which is equipped to be used as a low-stimulus environment where pupils can self-regulate when needed.

  4. Our wellbeing dogs
Aggie and Benji, our much loved wellbeing dogs, are a hugely popular part of the Hub. On pupils’ terms and comfort levels, they offer a reassuring, calming presence. Many boys find spending time with them helps ease anxiety and brings moments of joy to the school day.

  5. Support for parents
Our Wellbeing Hub has its own online spot which has been created by our pastoral team and contains a variety of resources to support you as parents. Ranging from exam pressure, sleep and motivation, these resources can, of course, be followed up on by speaking to our Designated Safeguarding Team whenever you need.
