Pupils have a few options when selecting their GCSE subjects in Year 9. All pupils are given guidance and support in making these decisions, and we do all that we can to facilitate the options that the boys want to pursue to GCSE.

It is compulsory for all boys to study Mathematics, English, Sciences (either as a three individual subjects or a Dual Award) and a Modern Foreign Language. Departments follow both GCSE and iGCSE specifications - the details of which course follows which specification can be found in our Academic Departments pages. We construct the timetable and classes around the choices made by Year 9 in January. While change may be possible subsequent to this, it will be dependent on option grouping of subjects and availability of places within a class or set.
