Settling into senior school

Starting senior school is an exciting step, and hearing directly from pupils can be one of the best ways to understand what life at Warwick is really like. We recently caught up with Max and Harrison, two Year 8 boys who joined us in 2024, to hear about their experiences so far. From favourite subjects and co‑curricular passions to unforgettable moments on trips and tours, they share what they’ve enjoyed most during their first year - and offer a genuine insight into how quickly new pupils can feel at home.

What are you enjoying the most about senior school?

What I enjoy the most about the senior school is the fact that it is really inclusive and no matter who you are, there is always something to do. Also, all the different sports make weekends fun by being able to represent a community. Max

I am enjoying the co-curricular activities that I am involved in. I do lots of musical clubs, such as Chapel Choir and Rock Band. Harrison

Have you had any standout favourite moments so far?

One of my favourite moments since starting has to be the rugby tour in Year 8. We went to Edinburgh for a week, played matches and had a great time doing everything. Being in the dorms with my mates, playing laser tag and even the train journey was so much fun. Max

I enjoyed the Bridge House of Rock, which I performed in, because it was a brilliant day of music-making, and was an amazing experience. Harrison

What is your favourite subject?

My favourite subject is probably History because learning about how our country has come to be, I find really interesting. Max

My favourite subject is Music. I enjoy playing the piano and having singing lessons, so I really find music interesting and enjoyable. Harrison

What sports do you enjoy?

My absolute favourite sport is rugby. I have loved rugby and started it at a very low age and it has been my passion ever since. The way Warwick play rugby is exciting and thrilling to watch and play. Max

I enjoy playing badminton because it is an action-packed and adrenaline-filled game. Harrison

Are there any clubs you enjoy in particular?

I do two after-school sports: rugby and hockey. I love both sports, and they are both really fun to play and are one of the highlights of my week. Max

I really enjoy Chapel Choir, Treble Rebels, and Rock Band. I am very passionate about music. Harrison
