Residential Visits
Our staff are committed to providing high quality opportunities for boys to enjoy challenges and opportunities beyond the classroom. Residential visits are key stepping stones to independence as the boys learn to organise themselves for the day ahead. Our programme provides genuine opportunities for team building as boys learn to value the contribution of others. The boys develop many new skills becoming more confident and assertive.
Highlights of our programme currently include a three day residential in Years 3 and 4 leading to a bushcraft camping experience in Year 5. Our Year 6 boys spend a week away in the Welsh mountains at Plas-y-Brenin, the National Mountain Centre. Following their entrance exams, the boys will spend the week climbing, canoeing, gorge walking, and caving, as well as taking part in nighttime activities. The week provides many real challenges for the boys, giving opportunities for leadership, teamwork, and personal growth.
We run a biennial sport tour to either Jersey or the West Country, providing further opportunity for the boys to represent the school and to enjoy being away together.
Our rich programme of visits is further enhanced by an opportunity to join the annual ski trip involving all pupils within the Warwick Schools Foundation. With the many opportunities on offer, we are confident that the boys will leave the Junior School ready for the challenges of Warwick Senior School.
