Important dates
Lower Sixth
Early September - New parents’ evening to include advice to parents on the UCAS system and timetable. Lower Sixth assembly to set the agenda for university admissions, including emphasis on taking at least one MOOC (Massive Organised Online Course). Unifrog account set-up.
January - Practice begins for LNAT (law) and the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) admission tests. Begin enrichment programme (this may be essential to support Oxbridge applications).
Spring - Higher Education Evening (pupils and parents).
17 April - EPQ submission.
Summer - Internal Summer Exams. These will be important in establishing the UCAS predicted grades. All pupils encouraged to go to university open days. Emphasis on UCAS within form time and Sixth-form assemblies.
Late Summer - UCAS day (within school for pupils). Target Day (pupils meet Lower Sixth tutors) UCAT course (medics etc).
Mid-August - EPQ results (same day as A-levels). Pupils gaining an A* at EPQ may well receive an offer of one grade lower, at Russell Group universities.
August – October of Upper Sixth - UCAT tests (all medics, dentistry, vet scientists will need to arrange this themselves at a test centre).
1 August – 15 September - Register and book LNAT test slot (this is important for Oxbridge candidates in order for them to sit the test before or on, 15 October 2022).
Upper Sixth
1 September – LNAT testing begins.
2 September - Chance for pupils to ‘resit’ summer exams to improve UCAS grade.
19 September - Warwick School internal deadline for submission of UCAS for anyone including Oxford or Cambridge as one of their choices, or for any application for medicine, veterinary science, dentistry.
15 October – Oxbridge candidates must sit the LNAT before, or at the latest on, 15 October 2022.
15 October - UCAS deadline for Oxbridge/Medicine etc. Other applicants may well wish to meet this deadline too, as universities can and do give out offers soon after this deadline.
Sept-Dec - All Upper Sixth pupils to meet one-to-one with Mr Cooley to discuss UCAS application and to get it signed off.
18 October - BMAT and TMUA tests (medicine and mathematics) NB During our half term break
2 November - Oxbridge admissions tests (various subjects)
7 November - Warwick School Internal deadline for all other UCAS applications.
November - Candidates who met the early deadline may begin to receive conditional offers.
December - Upper Sixth candidates to Oxbridge will attend interviews (if they have been invited).
31 December – Applicants for LSE must sit the LNAT before or on this date.
January (start of term) - Upper Sixth mock examinations.
15 January - UCAS deadline for all other subjects.
20 January - Register and book LNAT test slot before this date (deadline for all other law applicants).
25 January - Sit the LNAT before or on this date (deadline for all other law applicants).
25 February - UCAS ‘extra’ opens.
Spring - ‘Offer holder’ open days at most UK universities.
May - Final day for candidates to choose their ‘Firm’ and ‘Insurance’ offers.
Mid-August - A-level results day determines whether offers have been made. Offers available through ‘clearing’ for those who have not been accepted by ‘Firm’ or ‘Insurance’ Universities.
