Meet our wellbeing dog, Aggie!

Our pastoral care provision centres around the fact that when pupils join Warwick Junior School, they become part of our community. We recognise the vital importance of wellbeing in helping pupils to grow intellectually and emotionally, allowing them to take the next step in the journey to our Senior School with confidence.

Meet Aggie, our wellbeing dog!

Aggie plays a vital role in supporting our boys’ mental health and emotional wellbeing. Aggie will regularly visit classrooms where she will quietly sit next to the boys, allowing them to stroke her. This can reduce any anxiety and stress, helping students feel more settled and emotionally regulated. As a result, the boys are often able to focus better, engage with their learning, and concentrate for longer.

Aggie also goes on supervised lunchtime walks with boys who may be struggling emotionally or those who simply need a little space away from the busy playground. These walks provide a calming opportunity for students to relax, reset, and feel supported. Spending time with Aggie can help reduce feelings of stress, frustration, or overwhelm and allows boys to return to class feeling calmer and settled.

Aggie has a positive impact on our school community and is well-loved by everyone at Warwick Junior School!
