Pupil Voice Update December 2020

Despite the challenges this term the committee for pupil voice have been involved in many initiatives.

As a group we have met with the Head Chef twice to discuss catering issues and we also conducted a school wide survey to gather feedback and ideas. Ankit Sreevathsa  presented our findings to the Head Chef and shared the boys ideas, comments and praise with the catering staff.

We have spent much time discussing and collaborating with Kings High School regarding the topic of inclusion and equality. As part of this Joshua Simango, Head of School, took the lead in organising the ‘Wear red to show racism the red card’ day and presenting the associated assemblies. This has now become such an important aspect of our work that we intend to muster a dedicated committee to work on this next term led by Senior Prefect, Will Callan.

Our charities rep, Alec Chamberlain has worked hard with members of Year 11 to organise a collection of food for the Warwick District Foodbank as our second charities initiative. Next term we also hope to expand the charities team to other year groups as we work on new projects.

Finally we assisted Mr Nicholson, our Foundation Principal, in collecting pupils ideas for his ‘Big Conversation’. There was some great feedback and ideas from everyone and we thank you for that.

If any pupils have any ideas for initiatives that they would like Pupil Voice to spearhead on their behalf,
or if anyone would like to get involved please get in touch with Archie McCusker, who is the lead prefect for this group. We are always interested in hearing  ideas and giving the boys ‘a voice’ when they have questions and complaints for those in charge.
Have a great Christmas and stay safe.

Best wishes Mrs Bradshaw, Archie and the Pupil Voice team
