Is Warwick School a good school?
Whether you have browsed our website or social channels, seen the school for yourself, or heard from our Head Master, James Barker, you will know that we are extremely proud of all that we do here at Warwick School.
From our outstanding academic results and wide range of extracurricular activities to our culture of community and commitment to developing our boys’ character, we believe that everything that makes up The Warwick Way is something to shout about. And that isn’t just because we have received numerous national recognitions in recent years…
Despite this, we know that choosing your son’s next steps is a hugely important decision for parents to make. So, you shouldn’t just take our word for it…
We can proudly say that as a school with a rich history — dating back to c.914 — our reputation as an outstanding school for boys precedes us. To put that to the test, and to help make your decision that little bit easier, we sought after an objective view of what The Warwick Way really means:

1. Academic Excellence and Results

Excellence in teaching and learning is one of our four key priorities, and we can proudly say that our deliberate approach to academia is consistently reflected in first-class outcomes. Warwick School is an academic school which not only aims to deliver outstanding exam results, but to inspire a love of learning amongst our boys and a lifelong passion for their subjects. To do this, we employ the highest-quality staff with decades of experience, alongside outstanding facilities and plentiful resources to catalyse our boys’ progress.
Our curriculum is designed to provide an extensive range of subject options and many different learning experiences, whilst conferences, visits, lectures, and links with universities extend boys’ learning horizons further and maximise their academic development.
2. Inspection Results and Value

Earlier this year, The Telegraph analysed the fees of over 1,200 fee-paying schools across Britain, to see how they adapted to Labour’s addition of VAT for independent schools, and crucially, how this affected value for money in relation to exam results.
We were immensely proud to have been ranked ‘very good’ value for parents in their published league table; it provided confirmation of the excellent teaching and learning that we continue to be proud of at Warwick School.
3. Reputation, Ethos, and Community

Whilst outstanding academic results are certainly something to be proud of, we know that this is the minimum that parents should expect. Beyond academic results, we are proud of our extensive co-curricular offering, which broadens horizons beyond the classroom; 'knowing the individual', through our investment in pastoral care and wellbeing; and our commitment to charity and community-related work, empowering our pupils to serve their community and to be positive contributors to society.
Life at Warwick School aims to develop our pupils not just academically, but morally, spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. We believe that an outstanding boys’ education is one that enriches them holistically and encourages them to explore what it means to be a man in today’s world — without shame, fear, or judgment. Our environment is one in which our boys are not confined by a singular mould of masculinity, but a vision that includes courage, curiosity, and perseverance, and allows them to grow into well-rounded young men who can play a positive role in the world.
4. Extracurricular Strength

‘Broadening horizons beyond the classroom’ is another of our key priorities, and underpinned by this, we offer a rich, diverse, and inclusive educational experience. We provide opportunities for every pupil to enjoy participation in a balanced programme of co-curricular activities, embracing the arts, careers, leadership, outdoor education, and sport. The range of experiences on offer aim to inspire imaginations, develop confidence and abilities, and provide meaningful social, mental, and physical experiences. Our co-curricular offering is constantly developing, with the aim to offer something that piques the interest of every boy. This way, our boys learn, grow, and develop authentically, enabling them to thrive in the wider world once they leave us, both professionally and personally.
5. Pastoral Care and Inclusivity

At Warwick School, every pupil is known, cared for, valued for their individuality, and is physically and emotionally safe. With ‘knowing the individual’ another of our key priorities, this approach is something that we treat with the upmost importance. We know that happy boys thrive, and so we do all that we can to create an environment that boys can enjoy and in which they feel supported and safe. All pupils feel celebrated, regardless of their strengths or challenges.
Pastoral care is baked into the fabric of the school and informs the way that we do everything. From our powerful tutoring structure and wellbeing facilities to our vibrant Pupil Voice group and peer-to-peer support, we are committed to providing the right kind of care for every boy, their families, and our wider
5. In Summary
