Mr Bond's week in review - 14 February

School has been a little quieter this week with Year 6 in Snowdonia. As always, the news is that the boys are having a fantastic time, learning new skills, gaining some great memories and working together as a team. We look forward to hearing about their experiences next week.

In assembly this week we continued to reflect on our current learning strength, Responsibility.  I shared the story of Zacchaeus from the New Testament as an example of someone who took responsibility for their actions and changed their ways. We discussed the different responsibilities the boys have at school and at home, and the importance of fulfilling those responsibilities.

It was wonderful to see so many parents attend the Smartphone Initiative Presentation at the Prep School this Thursday.  The use of smartphones by young children is becoming an increasingly challenging and complex issue and it was so helpful to hear from a number of different speakers about the risks of smartphone use and possible ways we can support parents and their children moving forward. Further information regarding this initiative will be sent out after half term.

This week was tinged with sadness as we said goodbye to Kate Perry, one of our teaching assistants. Kate has worked at the Junior School for 6 years, supporting boys and teachers in Years 3 and 4. She has also worked in leading our School Council. We wish her the very best in her new ventures away from the classroom.

I wish you all a very restful half term.
