Mr Bond's week in review - 23 May

It is very apt that this week we are reflecting on our learning strength, Focus. After many weeks of practice and rehearsal – and focus – Year 6 put on their performance of Aladdin Jr. Faced with the challenges of a very short half-term and some technical hitches in the theatre, the boys put together a fantastic performance, from the singing, dancing and acting on stage and the wonderful house band, to the great work of the behind-the-scenes sound, lighting and stage crew. The boys demonstrated not just talent and enthusiasm but also teamwork. Well done to all the Year 6 boys and also thank you to the staff, especially Miss Curle, Miss Sharp, Ms Sayers, Mr Lewis and Mrs Robertson, who spent many hours putting the show together.

As you are aware, Miss Sharp will be leaving the Junior School at the end of the summer term. There will be a number of opportunities to thank her after half-term for all her wonderful work with Junior School music, inspiring hundreds of boys to love and enjoy their music. We are delighted that Mrs Stef Glover has been appointed as our new Junior School Director of Music, and we look forward to welcoming her to the community in September.

Wishing you an enjoyable half-term break,

John Bond
