Mr Bond's week in review - 7 February
This week we celebrated, along with many schools across the country, Children’s Mental Health Week. The theme this year is 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself' which encourages children to embrace self-awareness so that they can grow and develop the resilience to cope with future challenges.
In Monday’s assembly, we talked about the philosopher Socrates who said, ‘The most important thing is to try and know yourself’. By taking notice of ourselves and how we feel, we can make better choices and know when we need support. Further resources and guidance for parents and families can be found at:
Last week, Ventis House ran a very successful charity day raising money for The Myton Hospices. They raised over £400 for this worthwhile cause. Thank you for your support and also well done to all the boys and staff who helped organise the day.
This week saw a busy week of rehearsals for the Year 4 play as well as football and hockey fixtures. The Year 6 boys also attended the regional IAPS Hockey qualifiers on Thursday. Later today, the Digital Leaders will also be leading our Celebration Assembly, talking to the boys about e-safety in view of Safer Internet Day next Tuesday.
Good luck to the Year 6 boys who are off to Snowdonia for their residential next week!
Wishing you a restful weekend,
John Bond
