More chess success for Alex!

On Saturday, 21 June, Alex in Year 3 made the trip all the way up to Scotland to play in the Gigafinal of the UK Schools Chess Challenge, the world's largest school chess tournament.
Only a small percentage of the thousands of children who enter the competition manage to reach this, the penultimate stage. Alex had to face some very strong opponents, including some of the UK's best U8 chess players, but still managed to score a very creditable 3/7 and even caused a shock by beating the third seed in the first round. Well done Alex!
