Performing arts

The performing arts is a huge part of life at Warwick Junior School which helps pupils to build in confidence and develop independence.

All year groups have a double Drama lesson each week where pupils get to explore performing arts, movement, and the spoken word.

A highlight in the Junior School calendars each year are the two major productions in our very own Bridge House Theatre where pupils in Year 4 and Year 6 put on performances. Pupils take up roles either on the stage in an acting role or managing backstage as support, where they typically control sound and lighting requirements, as well as performing as part of the house band.  Each boy is given a role and responsibility, so everyone contributes to the success of the show.

Many boys further their interests by taking part in clubs such as LAMDA or Performing Arts, and by performing in festivals or local productions.

LAMDA

Our LAMDA club develops confidence, communication and performance skills through drama and public speaking. Pupils can work towards internationally recognised graded qualifications in areas such as acting, musical theatre and speaking in public.
