Mr Bond's week in review - 2 May

It was great to welcome the boys back this week. With the warmer weather, it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the fields at lunchtime. On Wednesday afternoon, some of the Year 6 boys also enjoyed the first cricket fixture of the season– summer has arrived!

In assembly on Tuesday, we continued to look at our Learning Strength, Reflectiveness. I asked the boys to reflect on the words of the late Pope Francis: ‘I invite you not to build walls but bridges, to conquer evil with good, offence with forgiveness, to live in peace with everyone.’ I challenged the boys to build bridges with their friends and peers, especially with the new boys who have joined us this term. Building bridges with others isn’t always easy and can take time, but through kind and empathetic words and actions, we develop positive friendships and relationships with others.

A highlight this week was spending some time looking at the Year 4 Art Exhibition in Warwick Hall. In a joint initiative with the Prep School, it was a pleasure to see the creativity at work from both the boys and girls.

With best wishes for the Bank Holiday weekend,
John Bond
