Mr Bond's week in review - 28 February

This week the boys have reflected on what it means to be a member of the Warwick School community. In assembly on Monday, we looked at the school coat of arms, a symbol of the school and one which the boys wear on their blazer.
By looking at the different heraldic elements, we discussed the links to King Edward the Confessor, King Henry VIII and the Earls of Warwick, and the fact that the boys belong to a community that can trace its past back over 1000 years. The boys also discussed the school motto, Altiora Peto, which means ‘I seek higher things’. I asked the boys to reflect on what it means to ‘aim higher’ and how they can work towards this in school and at home.
If parents would like to learn more about the Warwick School Arms and Motto then further information about this, and many other aspects of school history, can be found on the Archives page of the Old Warwickians website.
This week saw fixtures for Year 6 and Year 3, as well as the U11 Warwick 7s festival. Congratulations to those boys who also qualified for the Pro Corda Chamber Music semi finals which took place on Thursday this week.
Wishing you a relaxing weekend,
John Bond
