My Egyptian Adventure

Over the Easter holidays I went to Egypt with my family. We took a trip to Luxor to visit the Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temples. The mini bus picked us up from our hotel at 5am - it was still dark! It took us 4 hours to get there, but I got some sleep on the way. We visited Karnak Temples first - this was amazing! We saw real ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and buildings, statues and obelisks. Then we had to cross the River Nile by boat to reach the Valley of the Kings. This is where lots of ancient Egyptian pharaohs are buried. It just looks like mountains but the tombs were hidden underground to stop people robbing them. We went in some of the tombs - my favourite was Tutankhamun's tomb - it has his mummy inside in a glass case so you can see it. It was a bit creepy but very cool. The walls inside the tombs are painted in lots of bright colours with pictures and hieroglyphics, some of them still look brand new! I had a great adventure but it was very tiring.
