My Mexican adventure

Over the Easter holidays, I went to Mexico where I visited Tulum, which is one of the last cities built and lived in by the Maya people about 800 years ago. I enjoyed exploring the ruins, but it was very hot! We saw ancient temples for the gods of the sun, wind and rain.
On the way back we stopped to swim in a Cenote which is a cave with water formed millions of years ago. It was freezing but very fun. There were even bats flying around! The ancient Maya people believed that the Cenotes were the gateway to the underworld, as most of the Cenotes are very deep - the one we swam in was 40 metres deep in the middle! If you get a chance to visit Mexico, it is very exciting and there is lots to see!
