An Epic First Half-Term of Cricket

It has been an epic first half of the summer term, with 52 matches played despite some shocking weather.

Overall across 17 teams the school have won 35 matches, scored over 5000 runs, a handful of half centuries and one five wicket-hauls.

We are still waiting to celebrate our first centurion of 2023. Will (U15A) has come the closest with 96 not out off 43 deliveries, and Charles scored an unbelievable 47 not out for the 2XI taking them from 27-5 to winning the game at 115-8 in the final over.

On the bowling front Jacob is leading the way with 15 wickets in his 5 matches including figures of 4-2-2-5 against Bloxham. In the cup runs the A teams are all still completing their league matches with U12A's into the county final later this term. All the B teams are still in their respective competitions with 4 cup matches in the first week back. There has also been a revival of house cricket this week with the Year 7 & 8s playing 6-a-side softball. This has proved a great success with boys from A-D team standard mixing it up on the fields in the glorious English summer.
