Academic Support and SEND

This week we have been engaging with two great webinars hosted by Dr Pooky Knightsmith. The focus of these webinars has been: How to be a Neurodivergent Friendly School.

The two webinars examine separately the challenges of ASD and ADHD whilst thinking about possible strategies to help support both pupils and their families. We were pleased to hear that as a school, we are already doing much of what is suggested but it is always helpful to have good ideas reinforced and to be reminded of the simple but effective strategies we might overlook. As a teaching body, we are committed to ensuring that adaptive teaching is a reality in our school.

Using the website, you are able to access some of the key slides from these webinars and there are also lots of good resources signposted. If you are a neurodiverse parent or the parent of a neurodiverse child you may find these helpful.
