Zane's fundraiser for Breast Cancer

At Warwick School, we believe it is important to have a strong sense of community and seek to improve the world around us. We instil a duty of service amongst pupils so they become selfless leaders and make a positive impact on the world around them.

Zane has shown this in abundance, as on Christmas morning, Zane completed a half marathon independently for Breast Cancer UK in memory of his wonderful grandma who sadly lost her life to breast cancer in 2023.

He trained extremely hard up to the day and was thrilled to complete the half marathon in 1 hour and 42 minutes. His aim was to do it in under 1 hour 45 minutes. He planned the route in his local area himself, got up at 5am to fuel up and was out the door at 7.15am to start. His family met Zane at various points on route to give him water and honey packs.

Needless to say, his family are incredibly proud of him for his achievement not only on the day, but also for his discipline in preparing before, and his efforts with the sponsorship.

Zane has received amazing support and although his target was to raise £200, he has so far raised over £1600 with gift aid. Zane has been overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity, and it has clearly touched lots of people's hearts. Well done for all of your hard work Zane.
