Highly Commended Award for sports provision

We are delighted to announce that we have been HIGHLY COMMENDED in the Muddy Stiletto's Best Schools Awards 2025 in the Passionate About Sport category.

With over 500 award entries, we are thrilled that our sports provision got the recognition it deserves.

At Warwick, we aim to fuel a lifelong passion for sport and physical activity within pupils and to see all pupils supported and challenged to develop their talents and interests at whatever level they wish to participate.  We value performance and participation, and regularly celebrate all achievements.

Every pupil has something that they can enjoy and engage with each week;

  • In last term alone, 1490 pupils played in 315 fixtures in 74 sports teams
  • We have introduced new sports in Games - from kayaking to ski racing and more unusual sports such as parkour - now offering 27 different sports
  • We offer an additional 58 sports clubs and 12 sport-based activities
  • 40 of our most talented pupils are taken through the Performance Support Pathway from Year 10 upwards
  • We host an annual rugby sevens tournament that involved over 750 players
  • Over 200 pupils regularly use the gym
  • All pupils are put through the 'Swimming for Life' scheme
  • In a two-year cycle, we run seven major sports tours involving some 270 pupils to locations such as Australia, South Africa, and Sri Lanka
  • 20 local schools benefit from our football, hockey, and rugby outreach programmes
  • 15 Lower Sixth pupils are part of the Community Sports Leadership Award, which involves the students being trained to lead sports coaching sessions and then going out to local primary schools to coach the children
  • We have been awarded Centre of Excellence status by the Leadership Skills Foundation for our CSLA programme

There is certainly no doubt sport at Warwick is thriving; huge congratulations to our amazing sports department.
