Francophone Art Day

12 pupils from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 attended Coten End Primary School on 20 June to support pupils creating French art in an annual language collaboration with the school.
Each Coten End year group chose a French artist to research and reproduce pieces of their art. Warwick School pupils were allocated classrooms and acted as teaching assistants. It was an enjoyable and productive collaboration day, providing excellent work experience for our pupils. The amazing work was displayed one week later at the Coten End Francophone Art Exhibition.
Examples of other activities on the day and feedback from our pupils:
“Helping pupils learn various French phrases, helping them build structures, learning skills for art such as colouring and drawing, and plenty more. I enjoyed the whole opportunity, so thank you very much, and I am more than happy to participate in this event again.” Patrick O
“On Francophone Art Day, I helped oversee an art lesson and led a French lesson with my friend. I enjoyed the experience, and I also think it is great work experience if you want to be a teacher “ Braden P
“When helping out at the Francophone Art Day at Coten End primary school, I was with some of the Year 2s. I helped by giving some advice when they were doing art, drying up and handing things out to them. I enjoyed having the experience of helping younger people and remembering what it was like when I was in Year 2.” Oliver T
“At Coten End, I helped the children make an abstract painting of a lake.” Hugo H
“On Friday, I volunteered to help with the Year 3s. Firstly, I helped them paint a canvas black, so they had a base for the afternoon's activities. Then, I went to help with the Year 6s. These were harder and a bit cheeky, but it was fun, nonetheless. I met someone who is coming to Warwick next year and I enjoyed speaking to them about their play. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the day at Coten End Primary School.” Seth A
