Angus Read, an Old Warwickian who left in 2021, is undertaking an extraordinary sporting feat that reflects both his determination and the values he developed during his time at Warwick.
At just 22 years old, Angus is running 40 marathons in 40 European countries over four months. He began the challenge in mid-August and will conclude on 13 December with his final marathon in London. This week he is completing marathon number 34 in Malta.
If successful, Angus is set to become the youngest person ever to achieve this record-breaking accomplishment, according to the Guinness World Records. Alongside this physical challenge, Angus has committed to raising £10,000 for Cancer Research UK, supporting a cause that touches so many lives.
His journey has already attracted significant media attention, including coverage on the Liverpool FC website and other outlets. You can follow his progress by searching “Angus Read marathon” online.
We encourage the Warwick School community to cheer Angus on as he approaches the finish line of this incredible challenge. His determination and generosity are an inspiration to us all.
