Funk After 8 inspires festive joy at a local primary school

On Thursday, 11 December, pupils at Coten End Primary School were treated to a truly unforgettable Christmas music assembly, courtesy of Funk After 8 – our vibrant New Orleans–style brass band.

Their infectious energy and authentic Mardi Gras spirit had the entire primary school singing, clapping, and beaming with festive excitement.

Renowned as one of Warwick’s most dynamic and impressive ensembles, Funk After 8 delivered a performance that not only spread seasonal cheer but also ignited the musical curiosity of the next generation. Music has a remarkable ability to bring people together, and this joyful event did exactly that – enhancing relationships and strengthening our sense of community.

A huge thank you to the talented musicians of Funk After 8 for sharing their time, passion, and festive spirit. It was a heart-warming way to round off the term, leaving everyone inspired and ready for the Christmas holidays.

Coten End school commented: “We cannot thank you enough for your time this morning. It was honestly such a joy. The staff and children left the assembly absolutely buzzing with excitement and enthusiasm for the instruments and music in general. It was an utter joy to hear you play, thank you.”
