Music recitals: a term of talent and variety
Our Year 10 GCSE Music cohort has already taken to the stage twice this term at the popular Drivetime Concerts, showcasing performances that were met with warm appreciation from audiences in the Recital Room each Wednesday after school. The standard has been impressive, with thoughtful and creative interpretations that mark an important milestone as students work towards their Year 11 coursework submissions.
Drivetime Concerts (Wednesdays) and Lunchtime Recitals (Thursdays) are open to the entire school community, and we warmly welcome parents, pupils, and colleagues to join us. These events are always a delight, offering a rich mix of repertoire - just last week, audiences enjoyed everything from thrash metal guitar to Baroque cello sonatas! They provide a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect, and enjoy live music, whether or not you consider yourself musical.
We encourage all pupils to attend - these occasions are a fantastic way to enrich cultural life and experience the joy of performance.
