Assembly hits all the right notes with Funk After 8

n Thursday 19 March, Myton Gardens primary school was delighted to welcome Funk After 8 – one of Warwick’s most dynamic and impressive ensembles, to lead a truly special assembly.

From the very first note, the musicians filled the hall with energy and talent, performing a selection of uplifting pieces that left both pupils and staff smiling from ear to ear.

Comprised of Sixth Form pupils and staff, the band also took time to introduce the children to the instruments they play. From brass and woodwind to rhythm and percussion, they explained how each instrument contributes to the overall sound, bringing the music to life in an engaging and accessible way.

A particular highlight of the morning was the opportunity for several enthusiastic pupils to try out some of the instruments themselves - an experience they will not soon forget!

Myton Gardens commented: "It was a wonderfully inspiring start to the day, and we are incredibly grateful to Funk After 8 for sharing their talent, enthusiasm, and love of music with our school community."
