National Youth Theatre success for two Warwick pupils

We are delighted to announce that two Warwick boys, Raul and Angelo, have been successful in securing places at the prestigious National Youth Theatre.

Each year, over 6,000 to 6,500 young people aged 11–25 apply for places to join the National Youth Theatre in the UK. Very few are awarded a place and the chance to attend one of the summer courses offered by the organisation. For two of those successful candidates to come from Warwick School is a remarkable accomplishment.

The National Youth Theatre is one of the UK’s most respected youth arts organisations and has been a launchpad for countless careers in stage and screen. Its alumni include household names such as Daniel Craig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Dame Emma Thompson, Daniel Day-Lewis, Orlando Bloom, Ben Kingsley, Matt Lucas, Hugh Bonneville and many more. Students accepted into the NYT gain access to industry-level training, high-profile performance opportunities, and an influential professional network.

As part of the audition process, students participated in dynamic theatre workshops and performed individually prepared monologues. The experience offered valuable insight into the expectations of the professional industry.

Both Raul and Angelo have already made impressive contributions to drama at Warwick School and the department is thrilled that they have been successful. This achievement will no doubt inspire them to progress to even greater heights as actors in the future, both at school and beyond.
