Outstanding GCSE success at Warwick School

Warwick School pupils are celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results with 55.3% of all examinations awarded grades 9-8 (A*/A equivalent).

More than three-quarters of all grades (76.4%) were awarded at grades 9-7, while the average points score per subject was 7.5. The average total points score per pupil was 70.5, equivalent to ten A grades across a typical GCSE programme. Notably, the most frequently awarded grade across the cohort was the highest available grade: a 9.

The cohort's success includes a number of exceptional individual achievements. Five pupils secured a full set of grade 9s, while a further two achieved all grade 9s alongside a single grade 8. Twenty-one pupils achieved nothing below a grade 8, while 48 pupils received grades of 7 or above in every subject.

The strength of the results was evident across the curriculum, with 15 departments recording 50% or more of their grades at 9-8, demonstrating the depth and breadth of academic excellence across the school.

Head, James Barker, said: "We are delighted with this year's GCSE results. These outcomes reflect the ambition and commitment of our pupils, the support of their families, and the outstanding dedication of our staff.

What makes these results particularly pleasing is that they have been achieved within a school that is deeply committed to developing the whole person. Our pupils leave Warwick not only with excellent qualifications, but also with the character, confidence and values that will enable them to thrive in the future."

The results come shortly after Warwick School was awarded the Association for Character Education's prestigious Kitemark Plus accreditation, recognising the school's sector-leading commitment to character education and personal development.

James Barker added: "Our recent Kitemark Plus accreditation affirmed our belief that academic excellence and character development go hand in hand. These results demonstrate that young people can achieve at the very highest level while also embracing a broad education rich in leadership, service, creativity, sport and co-curricular opportunity."

As pupils and families celebrate today's achievements, these results provide further evidence of the strength of a Warwick School education and the success of the school's commitment to developing both exceptional scholars and young men of character.

Richard Nicholson, Foundation Principal, added:

"It has been another year of exceptional GCSE outcomes for pupils across our Foundation schools.

Our purpose as a charity is to transform lives through the power of education, and enabling our pupils to achieve the very best they can in public examinations is a vital step in that journey.

As well as these huge successes, our pupils enjoy a vast array of opportunities which sit alongside their GCSE curricula, developing character, confidence, and skills – and having a huge amount of fun, too.

We look forward to seeing them thrive in their A Levels and giving a very warm welcome to all our new pupils joining our schools for Sixth Form.

Congratulations once again to the GCSE Class of 2026."
