The Horse of the Year Show qualification

Alex, Year 9, has qualified to ride at The Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) at the NEC. Alex competes on his pony Minnie Mouse in Pony Club Mounted Games for North Warwickshire Pony Club, alongside his sister Lottie and three other teammates.

Alex has been riding since he was two years old. For many years, his dream has been to win The Prince Phillip Cup, awarded to the winner at HOYS. Out of over 150 teams in the UK, Alex and his team have made it to the final six. Alex trains every week and competes most weekends.

Alongside lots of training for HOYS, Alex and his team have been fundraising to cover the costs. They have sold sweets at local shows and done lots of poo picking for other people's ponies. Their main fundraiser is an auction of promises. They wrote to lots of local and national companies and have been very fortunate to secure some amazing lots to offer. The links to the auction and their donations page are both below.

Well done Alex, we are very proud and look forward to hearing how you get on.
