A Day in the Life

The future is bright...

Warwick’s 1st XI Hockey team has successfully made it through to the Quarter-Finals of the ‘Notts Sport Boys’ Schools Championships’.

This is the first time that the team has progressed this far in many years, which is a great achievement. Warwick School last got through to the Finals of this competition back in 1982 winning against Doncaster Grammar.

The Warwick team has qualified through their group, being the only team to win all of their matches against some tough opposition, including last year’s finalists Oakham School and Repton School.

The team now face Reed’s School, on Wednesday 27 March, 4.00pm (tbc) at Warwick School, for a chance to book their place in the semi-finals at the Olympic Park National Hockey Stadium, which will take place in May. It is a two-day event, with the semi-finals on one day, followed by the National Final the next day.

The 1st XI continue their season with some wins against great opposition:

  • v Bancroft's School (Round 2 of National Cup) 5 - 1 win
  • v Worksop College (England Hockey Tier 1 Championships) 1 - 0 win
  • v Oakham School (England Hockey Tier 1 Championships) 3 - 2 win
  • v King Henry VIII (Warwickshire League) 3 - 0 win
