    I hope some of the boys will have seen the pictures in the news showing images of the Endurance, Shackleton's ship, after its recent discovery 9,842 feet below the surface of the Weddell Sea. This discovery provided the inspiration for my assembly on Monday.

    It has been a frustrating week of working from home after testing positive for Covid. The timing of my absence was all the more disappointing as I was unable to watch the Year 4 production. By all accounts it was full of bright costumes, dancing, singing and even a bit of rapping. I was told that the play really did transport everyone to a galaxy far, far away in the spacecraft, The Millennium Penguin (which even has cup holders!).

    It was wonderful to see the overwhelming and generous support to Scott House's table top sale to raise money for UNICEF. Scott's election of UNICEF at the start of the academic year proved to be remarkably prescient, providing an opportunity for all our community to support the people of Ukraine. Children are naturally generous and also eager to respond when there is need. Hopefully the money raised will make a meaningful contribution to the humanitarian crisis.

    The boys all seemed to be glad to be back and energised after their half term break. There is so much to look forward to during the next few weeks as we head towards our concert, Year 4 production and all our sporting tournaments. This week marked the first time for many months when we did not have any boys self-isolating. With the boys (and staff) enjoying the fun of World Book Day, it feels as if school is finally returning to normal.
